Health safety: Lagos Traders decry waste littering,calls for evacuation.

The traders of ojuwoye market in mushin area of Lagos on Sunday has expressed displeasure on health risk made by heaps of refuse in the market.

They asked the concerned authority to ensure the heaps are packed twice daily.

A trader said the odour buzzing from the refuse are hazardous to human health.

The trader emphasized that the Lagos State management has made a routine to always clear the refuse on daily basis.

The refuse should be evacuate twice daily to ensure the truck from overflowing with refuse.

Another trader, Mr wale said it is not health wise to dump refuse close to traders who deal with foodstuffs. The government should allocate another dumpsite for traders to dump their refuse.

He said traders should be educate on how to dispose refuse properly

Contacted, LAWMA’s director of public affairs, Folashade Kadiri requested for the pictorial view of the environment and further comments witheld.
