Gunmen Shoot 22-Year-Old in Delta

A 22-year-old man, Goodluck Joe, was shot and seriously injured by suspected armed robbers on Friday night in Mosogar Community, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred around 9:37 pm along Otubu Church road as the victim was on his way home.

According to sources, “the gunmen accosted Joe(victim), shot him, and fled with his mobile phone, leaving him in a pool of blood.

Eye Witnesses said, “he vomited blood, which filled several containers, before he was rushed to the Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara. Medical scans revealed that the young man is suffering from internal bleeding,” Sources said

At the time of filing this report, Goodluck Joe remains in critical condition, fighting for his life.

Speaking on the matter, the victim’s relative, Voltage Gbagbanor, expressed gratitude for the support and prayers they have received so far but made a public appeal for financial help to cover the victim’s rising medical bills.

He said, “Please join us in prayer and fund-raising to get this innocent boy back to good health,” Gbagbanor pleaded.

Efforts to reach the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, for confirmation of the incident were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls at the time of this report.
