Traditional ruler of Gurku community,Jibril Waziri in the karu local government area of nasarawa state was abducted with his wife on sunday night by armed men imagine to be kidnappers.
The first-class monarch and his wife were kidnapped at the palace situated around the mountains in the area.
A resident revealed that the incident took place at about ten pm in the night,he said the gun men came in numbers, help were not render early enough which give the abductors access to abduct the chief and his wife
He explain that the community are asking for immediate intervention of the security agencies.
The police public relation Officer, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident on Monday in Lafia,he said they are trying their best so that the chief and his wife can regain their freedom in hurt
He said a distress call was put across to the nasarawa state police command, that the palace of the chief of gurku town situated ten kilometers away from maraba main town in a mountainous area, was, invaded by unknown men imagine to be kidnappers
The commissioner of police,Maiyaki Baba,arranged a combined team of police operatives with vigilante group to the location, on reaching the spot, the squad realised the chief and his wife have been abducted to an unknown destination
Additional men of the tactical teams, the anti-kidnapping unit, and officers from karu area command has been sent to the location in other for the chief and his wife to regain their freedom. (The Punch)
