Gov Oborevwori Salutes Muslims, Calls for Peaceful Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his congratulations to Muslims in Delta State and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, the Governor urged Muslims to emulate the selflessness of Prophet Mohammed.

“Eid-el-Kabir is a time of sacrifice, love, harmony, and family,” Governor Oborevwori noted.

He encouraged all Nigerians, irrespective of their faith or ethnicity, to continue in peaceful coexistence, fostering love and care for one another.

The Governor noted the importance of prayer for the nation’s advancement and peace, urging Muslims and all Nigerians to remain steadfast in their supplications.

He assured the public that security agencies are fully prepared to ensure a peaceful Sallah celebration in Delta State.

Governor Oborevwori also highlighted the administration’s commitment to partnering with the Muslim community for the state’s progress.

He stated, “On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters all over the country on the occasion of the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir.”

He urged reflection and prayer during the celebration, focusing on overcoming the challenges facing the nation.

“We must use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to reflect further and pray for our country to overcome the many problems confronting it,” he said.

Oborevwori called for harmony and cooperation with all levels of government, stressing the need to live in unity.

“… Let’s continue to live in harmony and cooperate with all tiers of government,” he added.

In his message, the Governor implored everyone to promote peaceful coexistence among people of different tribes and religious beliefs.

“I implore everyone of you to ensure that, as we rejoice, let us all learn to be our brothers’ keeper by promoting peaceful coexistence amongst people of different tribes and religious beliefs,” he concluded.
