Gov.Makinde announces teacher recruitment plan

Executive Governor of Oyo State,Engr.Seyi Makinde has unveiled a comprehensive plan to recruit primary school teachers.

The announcement came during a pivotal stakeholders consultative meeting held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, to discuss the 2024 budget.

Governor Makinde stated, ‘I want to assure you all that we will commence the recruitment exercise for primary school teachers in the first quarter of next year.’ These measures are intended to foster a more attractive and investor-friendly environment.

Additionally, he pledged to allocate an annual budget ranging from 10 to 12 billion naira to revamp the deteriorating infrastructure in public schools.In a move to enhance the overall well-being of the state, Governor Makinde also promised a significant upgrade of 351 primary health centers and vowed to enforce environmental and sanitation laws.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning,Professor Babatunde Musibau, emphasized the critical role of the consultative meeting in ensuring effective budgeting.

He stressed, ‘The consultative meeting has become a serious process for effective budgeting.’

Throughout the meeting, various representatives of interest groups articulated their demands and expectations for inclusion in the 2024 budget.It’s noteworthy that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration conducts these annual stakeholders consultative meetings across different zones of the state as part of their meticulous budget planning process.”
