Gombe Gov grants over N600m incentives to 1,273 Pilgrims

Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, authorized N500,000 as a stipend for each of the 1,273 Muslim pilgrims from the state who plan to participate in the 2018 Hajj pilgrimage.

According to a statement from his spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the decision was made in reaction to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s (NAHCON) modifications to the 2024 Hajj fare.

He continued by saying that the approval is intended to lessen the financial burden that the state’s intending pilgrims will encounter in light of the present economic difficulties.“

Governor Yahaya hopes that this intervention will contribute to a seamless and spiritually enriching Hajj exercise for all pilgrims from Gombe State, as well as facilitate a conducive environment for religious activities despite prevailing economic challenges,” The statement claimed.
