FUTMinna VC charges students on Self Discipline as SUG inaugurates new Excos

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINA) Prof. Abdullahi Bala has called on students to ensure high level of self discipline anywhere they find themselves.

Professor Bala who made the call during the inauguration ceremony of new Executive members of the Institution’s Students Union Government stated that students are expected to demonstrate moral standard in their endeavours. CAMPUS FOCUS REPORT

“As students of this great institution you should maintain a high level of moral standard so you can continue to be a great ambassador of your institution after graduation.”

While commending the student union for conducting themselves in orderly manner during the their just concluded election, the Vice Chancellor said the presence of Students Union in institution to build leaders while given them the opportunity to experience.

He enjoined the new executives to ensure the next inauguration be more elaborate.
He however assured the students of the institution managements commitment towards a standard level in the academic activities.

Meanwhile the newly inaugurated President of the Students Union Fajoye Ayodeji Matthew while appreciating the Vice Chancellor and the school Management assured of his commitment to ensure the best practice for the success of the students and institution during his administration.

While calling on the federal government to fix the education sector in Nigeria to meet world standard, Matthew urge the institution Management to provide required items for a conducive environment of learning.

“We as the union Executives/Representatives are not here to be a bridge between the Management and Students alone but also to do enormously on our path what we can in moving the university forward to greater height and for global reckoning in line with her written Mission and Vision.

“So therefore we urge the university management to please ensure to put in place all academic suit, strategies and needs most importantly a better conducive, well ventilated, well equipped and friendly learning environment for the pursuit of academic excellence of the entire FUTMITES.

“I hereby also want to use this medium to demand from the federal government to do the needful in all ramifications as concerning our education sector as education input today is the passport to the better output of tomorrow.”

While also appreciating the Electoral committee for their effort during the election process, Matthew called on all other contestants to join hands with him in essuring the smooth running of the administration and ultimately success of the students.
The newly elected SUG are Fajoye Ayodeji Matthew, Vice president 1: Bello Nusirat Abisola, Vice president 2: Isaac adeni adariku, General secretary: Olaore Alaba zachariah, and Assistant general secretary: others are: Joyce Nomigo, Welfare director :Adejube Ayopo damilola, Welfare 2: Amoo tohyeeb, Sport director :Adeq, Director of social:Anyanwu cherish jonathan, Financial secretary :Alabelewe rafat Yewande and the P. R. O: Abdul Rasheed ismail.

Among dignitaries who graced the occasion and the University Vice Chancellor Prof. Abdullahi Bala, the Dean Of Students Affairs- Prof. Abdulmojeed Ijaya and other management staff.
