Fuel Subsidy: FG, NLC, TUC meeting end in deadlock

The meeting between the Federal Government, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) over the fuel subsidy removal ended in a deadlock at the State House, Abuja Wednesday evening.

The development occurred as the FG and the Labour Unions could not agree on the timing for the removal of the subsidy on petroleum products.

The Union leader at the meeting insisted that the old price should be allowed to continue while there are further consultations on price hike.

The Presidential Spokesman, Dele Alake who spoke to newsmen onbehalf of the FG said the meeting was adjourned till a later date for a concrete decision to be taken by both sides.

However, on his part, the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, said the meeting was deadlocked as no agreement was reached at the meeting.
