Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured the people of the state of his administration’s commitment to improving services and protecting lives and property. The governor made the promise at the 2025 New Year State Banquet in Government House, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday night.
According to Governor Fubara, his administration is determined to sustain the Rivers First policy, which prioritizes the welfare and well-being of Rivers people. He stated that his government will continue to protect the lives of citizens and provide the required services to ensure their comfort and security.
“We will continue to protect the lives of our people and provide the required services in our state,” Governor Fubara said. “We are not going to lower our guards. Rather, we will raise our bar because what is speaking for us today is the achievements we are making in the face of obvious distractions.”
The governor noted that despite the challenges faced by his administration, they have been able to achieve significant milestones, and they are committed to doing more. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their support and cooperation, saying that his administration is equal to the task of delivering good governance.
Governor Fubara also announced that his administration will embark on projects commissioning in February, with a focus on the Fire Service. He disclosed that his government has acquired new vehicles and is remodeling the offices of the Fire Service, which had been non-functional for over nine years.
The governor’s assurance of improved services and protection of lives and property has been welcomed by Rivers people, who are eager to see the dividends of democracy. With the governor’s commitment to raising the bar and delivering good governance, there is hope that Rivers State will experience significant development and growth in the coming year.
