Former United States President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100, leaving behind a legacy of service, diplomacy, and commitment to human rights. Carter, who served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981, died on Sunday, prompting an outpouring of tributes and condolences from world leaders and citizens alike.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that Carter’s “leadership contributed significantly to international peace and security,” and that his commitment to human rights and democracy had inspired generations of leaders around the world.
Carter’s passing has also prompted an outpouring of tributes from citizens around the world, who have praised his integrity, compassion, and commitment to public service.
