The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has reassured Nigerians that the naira will continue to stabilize in the coming weeks and months.
Shettima affirmed this during the National Design and Innovation Competition’s opening ceremony on Wednesday, which took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Interior Designers Association of Nigeria (IDAN) organized the event with the goal of encouraging young people to pursue creative and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Remember that the value of the naira increased over time as a result of certain monetary measures implemented by the government? The official market exchange rate is currently N1396 per dollar, while the parallel market rate is N1470. This is in contrast to the February exchange rate, which was as high as N1900 per dollar.
Shettima also guaranteed that the administration of President Bola Tinubu would persist in tackling concerns related to sustenance, wellness, and poverty.
He thus acknowledged the crucial role that young people play in creativity and stated that the government will keep assisting them in realizing their goals.
In the government’s $617.7 million Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-DICE) program, the Vice President revealed plans to incorporate young innovators.
Titi Ogufere, the founder of IDAN and leader of the group, had earlier disclosed ambitions to teach one million young people industrial design and furniture manufacturing.
He states that IDAN would work with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy to conduct the training.
“The initiative will feature design competitions and workshops where participants can showcase their prototypes.
“They will work with top Nigerian manufacturers like AFP by Julius Berger, TRT Aredo, Wood Styles, IO Furniture, and Nettetal,’’ he declared.
