The Federal Government has announced plans to commence the implementation of the National Values Charter, aimed at promoting national unity, citizenship, and responsibility.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stated that the charter has been carefully crafted to ensure Nigerians are aware of their rights and protections under the constitution and laws of the land.
“The National Values Charter is designed to awaken all Nigerians to their responsibilities as citizens of this great country,” Idris said.
“We want to foster a country where citizens and the country share deep mutual love and respect for each other.”
Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, noted that the agency has been proactive in retooling and building on the foundation laid by past directors general.
“We understand the need for modern platforms to interact with Nigerians, particularly the youth,” Issa-Onilu said.
“Our mobile app, Mobiliser, has strengthened our ability to deliver on our mandate to generate citizens’ feedback for the government.”
