FG Releases Identities of Helicopter Crash Victims

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed military personnel in Rivers State to ramp up search and rescue efforts for the passengers involved in a tragic helicopter crash that occurred on Thursday in the Atlantic Ocean near Bonny Finima.

The deceased passengers have been identified as Tamunoemi Soko, Alu Lawrence, Etim Emmanuel, Kenneth Chikwem, Frank Oriamre, and Borris Ndorbo.

The incident involved a helicopter chartered by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), which was en route to one of its oil platforms in the Niger Delta. All eight individuals aboard, including two crew members and six passengers, sadly lost their lives.

In a statement from his adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu urged military officers engaged in operations in the region to assist with the rescue mission and support agencies like the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The president extended his condolences to the board and staff of NNPC and the families of those who perished in the accident.

The helicopter took off from the Arik Air hangar at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Port Harcourt.
