Federal High Court mours as Justice Mallong dies

Abuja’s Federal High Court headquarters is gripped by mourning as it grieves the sudden demise of one of its esteemed Judges, Hon. Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong.

Justice Mallong tragically passed away on a Sunday evening in Abuja, occurring in less than 48 hours after the court’s annual vacation for judges had commenced.

The Chief Registrar of the Court, Hassan Amida Sulaiman, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a brief and poignant statement released on Monday.

The statement he personally signed conveyed the following: “It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our own, Hon. Justice Peter Hoommuk Mallong, a revered Judge of the Federal High Court. Justice Mallong unexpectedly departed from us on 30th July, 2023, after battling a brief illness in Abuja. The loss is immeasurable, and we will miss him beyond words can express. Funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public in due time.”
