Dan Sokoto Shaibu, a middle-aged man from Kogi State, has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Lokoja on charges of allegedly sexually abusing his two biological sons, aged 17 and 11.
The accused is charged for contravening Section 292 of the Kogi State Administration of Criminal Justice Law.
The court proceedings revealed that Shaibu admitted to the crime, attributing his actions to the influence of alcohol.
The prosecutor requested Shaibu’s remand to facilitate further investigation into the case.
Granting this request, Magistrate Memunat Abdullahi ordered Shaibu to be held at the Federal Correctional Centre in Koton Karfi for 14 days.
The court has adjourned the case to September 9, 2024, when further hearings will take place.
