A former Lecturer of Department of Languages, Kaduna State Polytechnic (KADPOLY), Mr. Austin Umerah, has committed suicide shortly after he shot his wife Dr. Maurin Umerah.
Dr. Maurine, a part time lecturer at Department of Languages Kaduna State University (KASU) sustained injury from the gun shot by her husband at their residence at Kigo road in Kahuna State.
According to Daily Trust report, Mr. Umerah shot his wife on Wednesday November 18 by 10pm before killing himself.
Although reports on what transpired between the duo is yet to be confirmed as the time of publication, it was gathered that Mrs Umerah is currently receiving treatment at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna. while the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the Barau Dikko mortuary.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige has confirmed the incident.
