Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Oyo State Command has arrested eight suspected kidnappers at Easy Gate along Abanla Ogunmakin road in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
One of the kidnappers was killed while others sustained gunshot injuries during a gun battle between the suspects and men of the corps.
Some with bullet injuries also escaped during the gun battle.
According to a statement, made available to NATIONAL TELESCOPE by the command’s Spokesperson, Oyindamola Okuneye, the NSCDC had commenced investigation to fish out the whereabouts of the escaped suspects.
“the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) CC Adaralewa Michael used the medium to call on the citizens of the State to join hands with all Security operatives by giving credible information on any incident that happens in their jurisdiction.
“He added that information can also be disseminated to the NSCDC or the sister agencies anytime they suspect anybody with bullet wound in order to arrest other members of the kidnapped gang that escaped with the bullet injuries.
“We are created to protect you, if you see something, please say something”, said the Commandant.
