Eid-El-Fitr: NAUS felicitate with Muslim Students

The National Association of University Students (NAUS), has congratulated all Muslim faithfuls on the successful completion of Ramadan fast.

In a statement signed by the Deputy National Secretary General, Comr. Adewoyin Tijani Adekola and Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Comr. Joy Ogbodo made available to CAMPUS FOCUS on Sunday, May 25, 2020, urged believers to imbibe the lessons learnt front the fasting.

The statement reads: “The office of the Deputy National Secretary General, National Association of University Students (NAUS)ably led by Comr. Adewoyin Tijani Adekola (TEEJAY) has congratulated Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the 1441AH Ramadan Fasting as they observe Eid-el-Fitr, as it expressed optimism that the difficulties experienced following the outbreak of Coronavirus by God’s grace will soon be history.

“Muslim Faithfull have gone through one of the most rigorous Islamic obligations of one month fasting and prayers as well as other forms of Worship and urged all believers to imbibe the lessons learnt during the Ramadan period through sacrifices, almsgiving to the needy, continuous exhibition of piety as well as Charity to one another.

“Eid-el-Fitr Celebration is coming at a time the world has been thrown into confusion with the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the success of the Ramadan fasting amidst the COVID-19 pandemic shows the faithfulness, resilience and hope for betterment even at difficult times by our Muslim brothers and sisters. May Almighty Allah grant us the grace to overcome the pandemic, Renew our faith, protect us, strengthen us, and bless our country with peace and prosperity

“The Deputy National Secretary General, National Association of University students (NAUS) Comr. Adewoyin Tijani Adekola urged Muslim faithful to use the period to pray for an end to pandemic, while appealing that the Sallah Celebration should be observed without much fanfare to complement government’s efforts aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19.

“While urging them (The Muslims) to sustain the lessons of the holy month of Ramadan, he admonished the people most especially the University Students across the nation to observe all the precautionary measures as outlined by the health professionals and the government including personal hygiene, social distancing, use of face mask and hand-washing especially at public gatherings.”
