In commemoration of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, the federal government has authorized Thursday, April 11, as an extra public holiday.
The Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry of Interior, Aishetu Ndayako, stated this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
She described Ramadan as “the month of spiritual rejuvenation,” the minister restated President Bola Tinubu’s pledge to create a secure and prosperous Nigeria where everyone may benefit.
On Sunday, April 7, the federal government announced that Tuesday and Wednesday will be public holidays in observance of Eid el-Fitr this year.
Eid el Fitr, also known as the holiday of breaking the fast, is observed by Muslims all over the world to commemorate the conclusion of Ramadan, which lasts for a month from sunrise to sunset.
