EFCC Orders Investigation into Bobrisky’s N15m Bribery Claims

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has initiated an investigation into the bribery allegations involving some of its officers, following a viral video by popular figure Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky.

In the video, Bobrisky, an ex-convict, accused EFCC officers of collecting N15 million from him in exchange for dropping money laundering charges. The EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, swiftly responded by assembling a team of investigators to probe the allegations.

Several key developments have emerged from the case. Firstly, the EFCC has set up a dedicated team tasked with investigating the bribery claims made by Bobrisky. In a statement, Olukoyede emphasised the agency’s commitment to getting to the bottom of the matter.

“We will thoroughly investigate these allegations and make our findings public,” he said, reinforcing the EFCC’s dedication to transparency and accountability.

Additionally, Bobrisky and social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, have both been invited to the EFCC’s Lagos Directorate to assist with the investigation. Their involvement is seen as critical to ensuring the probe is comprehensive and fair.

The EFCC has also reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to its core values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and collaboration.
Olukoyede stressed that the Commission remains focused on upholding the law and rooting out any form of corruption within its ranks.

This case has drawn significant public attention, with many calling for a swift and transparent resolution.
