Edo 2024: Obaseki’s loses LG to APC

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has lost Oredo Local Government Area to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the recently announced governorship election results from the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The results, declared on Sunday in Benin City, show that APC candidate Senator Monday Okpebholo received 30,780 votes, while Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 24,938 votes. Olumide Akpata from the Labour Party received 5,389 votes.

Ighodalo is Obaseki’s endorsed candidate for the election.
