The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said that the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering certificate is issued free by the agency.
The SCUML certificate is issued by the EFCC and serves as proof that an organisation’s bank account is not used for money laundering activities and certifies the organisation as legitimate.
The Commission in a statement on its Facebook handle warned individuals and organisations not to fall victim of fraudster by paying for the certificate.
“Obtaining SCUML certificate from the EFCC is free, totally free. Don’t be decieved by those who will come to you with the story of payment of registration fee. Please be guided, don’t fall mugu.”
According to the commission, the certificate is obtainable through its website ‘www.scuml.org.
