Delta Speaker Hails Team Delta’s Triumph at National Youth Games

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Delta State for Team Delta’s stellar performance at the 8th National Youth Games held in Asaba.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, Rt. Hon. Guwor celebrated the exceptional achievement of Team Delta, who topped the medal tally with 46 gold, 31 silver, and 34 bronze, bringing their total to 111 medals. 

Guwor lauded this accomplishment as a clear indication of the state’s dominance in sports and its ongoing commitment to sports development.

According to him, “My heartfelt congratulations to our talented youths for emerging as the overall winners at the 8th National Youth Games! Your dedication, perseverance, and teamwork have made Delta State proud. 

“This achievement underscores the value of our investments in Youth Development and Sports Infrastructure,” Guwor stated.

The Speaker urged continued excellence and emphasized that this victory is a precursor to even greater successes. 

“To the government and people of Delta State, let us celebrate this remarkable achievement! Our collective efforts have yielded outstanding results. This victory showcases our dedication to empowering our youths and fostering socio-economic growth,” he added.

Rt. Hon. Guwor also commended the sportsmanship of contingents from other states, highlighting their role in making the event successful. 

“To our fellow Nigerian states who participated, I extend my sincere appreciation for your sportsmanship and camaraderie. Your presence made the event memorable and inspiring.”

Expressing gratitude to the event organizers, Guwor thanked them for choosing Delta State as the venue. 

He said, “To our esteemed visitors, thank you for selecting Delta State for the 8th National Youth Games. We hope you enjoyed our hospitality and the vibrancy of our state. We look forward to welcoming you again soon,” he concluded.
