The Ovie of Agbarha Warri Kingdom in Warri South Local Government of Delta State, His Royal Majesty King Kingsley Emakpo Orereh, Igbi II, has received strong commendations for his efforts in renovating and furnishing the Agbarha District Customary Court in Otovwodo community, Warri South.
Hon. Justice Ngozi Ojugbana-Oritsedere, President of the Delta State Customary Court of Appeal, commended the monarch during a thank-you visit to the Agbarha palace in Ogunu.
She led senior members of the state judiciary on the visit, where she lauded the newly renovated court building, describing it as one of the best in the state with modern facilities.
Justice Ojugbana-Oritsedere expressed her gratitude, noting that the foresight shown by the Ovie in enhancing government projects within his domain is commendable.
She encouraged other royal fathers and community leaders to follow the Agbarha monarch’s example in supporting and improving public facilities.
Accompanying Justice Ojugbana-Oritsedere on the visit were several judges and senior staff of the State Customary Court of Appeal, including Justice Dele Okafor, Justice Abanre, Justice Gberevbie, Justice Akumagba, Justice Gbakeji, Justice Uraih, Bridget Ojeikere (Chief Registrar, DSCCA), Imade Ene-Edah (Deputy Chief Registrar, DSCCA), Augustine Chiejine (DPM), and Ighoteguono Egbo (Chief Accountant, DSCCA).
Addressing the monarch before the court building’s commissioning, Justice Ojugbana-Oritsedere stated, “What you (Ovie of Agbarha) have done for us is amazing. We were not comfortable in our previous location.
“Your generosity in providing us with a modern court, complete with a generator set, borehole, air conditioning, and furniture, is incredible.
“We hope other communities emulate your example to ease our accommodation challenges.”
She acknowledged the peaceful nature of the Agbarha community and their amicable resolution of past issues, assuring that the judiciary would take good care of the facilities provided.
In his remarks, Ovie of Agbarha Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Igbi II, reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with all levels of government.
He highlighted that the court renovation is one of many projects he has undertaken since ascending the throne, aiming to ensure that government facilities in his kingdom receive similar enhancements.
The monarch also appealed to the President of the State Customary Court of Appeal to consider employment opportunities for his subjects within the state judiciary.
Previously, the court operated from a rented apartment near the Agbassa shrine before the monarch’s intervention.
Recently, Igbi II also donated medical equipment worth several millions of naira to the Central Hospital Warri, furthering his commitment to providing quality healthcare for his subjects and city residents.
The reception for Justice Ojugbana-Oritsedere and her delegation also had the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, His Majesty King Monday Obokuwho Whiskey, PhD, Udurhie I, along with senior Agbarha Warri and Idjerhe chiefs in attendance.
