The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a new reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, to N899.50 per litre. The move is aimed at providing financial relief to Nigerians during the holiday season.
This price adjustment follows an earlier reduction to N970 per litre on November 24 and is designed to help ease transportation costs as festive celebrations intensify.
Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, revealed in a statement on Thursday that the refinery has also introduced a special holiday offer to further support consumers.
As part of this initiative, customers who purchase petrol with cash will be eligible to buy an additional litre on credit, with the transaction secured by bank guarantees from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
Chiejina explained that the reduction reflects the refinery’s ongoing commitment to delivering affordable and high-quality petroleum products. He also highlighted its role in addressing the challenges of substandard fuel imports, which have previously caused health and environmental concerns.
The statement reads in part: “To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM. Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.”
The refinery expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their continued support and reaffirmed its dedication to making fuel more accessible and affordable, particularly during the holiday period.
