Custom CG caution promoted officers against misconduct

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, on Wednesday, 15 May 2024, decorated thirteen members of his management team with their new ranks at the Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters in Abuja

The ceremony, which saw the promotion of five Deputy Comptroller-Generals and eight Assistant Comptroller-Generals, followed the approval of the Nigeria Customs Service Board on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

The appointment process was done in strict adherence to the laws and principles of the Federal Character Commission, taking into account seniority and dedication to service.

In his address, the CGC urged the newly promoted officers to intensify their commitment to the success of the Nigeria Customs Service, especially in combatting smuggling, enhancing revenue generation, and facilitating trade.

He noted the paramount importance of discipline and leading by example, highlighting the necessity of shared departmental visions.

Among those decorated were Suleiman Bomai, Bello Jibo, Beatrice Nwafor, and Caroline Niagwan as Deputy Comptroller-Generals, and Baba Imam, Adekunle Oloyode, Sambo Dangaladima, Abdulrazaq Abdulazeez, Sai’du Yusuf, NP Umoh, Charles Obih, and Ciroma Sulaiman as Assistant Comptroller-Generals of Customs, each assigned to various pivotal roles within the service.

The CGC reiterated the significance of upholding exemplary conduct and maintaining discipline as they assume their new responsibilities.
