There is palpable fear of protest over allege plot to sell the Akwa Ibom Power Company to Savannah Energy.
An inside source, who pleaded anonymity, said Savannah Energy, the company allegedly seeking to take over the running of the power company does not have power specialty, but oil, gas and related venture, a development experts believe will impart negatively on the facilities and equipments in the power company.
Reacting to the development, state chairman of Federation Of Informal Sector Employers Association Of Nigeria, and the National Chairman, Artisans, Traders and Allied Technicians, Daniel Ekwere said his group, during the state emergency meeting, resolved for a massive protest against what he described as a sinister plot to sell the company to a non-expert group.
He pleaded with the state governor to consider the alarming unemployment rate in the state and put the plan to a stop, else they mobilize the state for a massive protest.
