Coronavirus: Lagos Varsity postpone 24th Convocation Indefinitely

The Lagos State University (LASU), has postponed its 24th Convocation ceremonies indefinitely over the outbreak of the pandemic Coronavirus.

The Convocation Ceremonies was earlier scheduled for Friday 20th to Friday 27th March, 2020.

The institution made the disclosure of the decision in a statement by the LASU’s Coordinator, Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations, Ademola Adekoya and release to Journalists today.

The statement stated that, the decision was in line with the Federal and State Governments resolution to discourage gathering of people in public places in order to curb the spread of the virus.

“The Lagos State University Management hereby announce the postponement of the 24th Convocation Ceremonies of the University indefinitely.

“The postponement is as a result of the prevailing health threats occasioned by Coronavirus pandemic and the resolution of the Federal and State Governments to discourage gathering of people in public places at this point.

“The Management regrets every inconveniences this postponement must have caused all our graduating students,
awardees, family, friends, and other stakeholders of the University”

The statement however said, information regarding on the postponed convocation will be made available to the public in due course.
