Convocation: Redeemer’s varsity honours former senator Danjuma

A former Chairman, Senate Committee on Women Affairs and Youth Development, Senator Daisy Danjuma, led honour’s list by the Redeemer’s University, Ede Osun State, as the institution conferred awards on five outstanding Nigerians, staffers and students of the institution.

At the award presentation held at university’s auditorium, Danjuma bagged ‘Outstanding Contribution Award,’ while Senior Director of Finance at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Joesph Adeyokunnu, was conferred with the ‘Distinguished Support Award.’

Others are Ishola Yusuf who clinched the Friend of the University Award; Mrs Aderoju Ajala, Societal Impact Award, while Kenneth Obiajulu picked up the Alumni of the Year Award.

Also honoured were workers of the university who had distinguished themselves in the discharge of their duties, as well as students that excelled in their studies.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof Anthony Akinlo, said the awards were in recognition of the professional credentials and contributions of the recipients to the development of the university.

He added, “The award should not be seen as a means to massage the awardees’ ego; it is a challenge for them to contribute more to the development of the mankind.”
