Caleb Varsity to honour Ooni of ife as 14 bag first class

Caleb University, Imota, Lagos  is set to honour the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi  during its seventh convocation ceremony slated for this week. In a release by the institution’s Public Relations Office, Mr Elvis Efe Otobo, the occasion would  witness conferment of awards and recognition of distinguished Nigerians with track-record of excellence.

He said: ”The seventh convocation which has produced fourteen first class  will witness conferment of awards and recognition of distinguished Nigerians with track-record of excellence, as well as Higher and First Degrees on successful students who have been found worthy in learning and character respectively.”

According to him, the convocation that’s slated for Friday, October 13, 2017 at the Multi-purpose Hall of the institution’s will witness the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode as the special guest of honour and The Group, Chief Executive of FCMB, Mr. Ladi Balogun, will deliver the Convocation Lecture. In the breakdown of the 409 graduands, he said: ”14 persons made First Class Honours, 142, Second Class Upper Honours Division, 162, Second Class Upper Honours Lower Division and 47 with Third Class. Others in the class of higher degrees were 12 for MBA and 32 MSc.”

He said: ”The programme released by the convocation planning committee reveals that the programmes and activities begin with valedictory service on the 8th of October. Seminar on Human Resource Concerns themed “Contend for Space”, “Dominate the Space” on Discipline in life and Ethics in the Workplace and Novelty Football match will hold on the 10th. ”Emerald Connect and Graduands’ Forum is slated for 11th, just as pre-convocation dinner is fixed for  12th and the main event on October13th with conferment and award of degrees. ”Brig. General C. A. Bossman, Director of Nigerian Army Archives, will have a session with the graduands on Discipline in life and Ethics in the Workplace while a human resource expert Mr. Tom Otuaga, Chief HR Officer, Century Group will speak on Human Resource Concerns.”
