“I got information that there was an ongoing protest at IbadanPoly and quickly I went for the report.

“When I got there, The gate was locked, I tried to get access into the premises but couldn’t because some of the students mounted the gate. I ask to see the Student Union President but was told he has left. I tried to get some picture shots. While doing that on of the student spotted me and shouted, the next thing I saw was that, a number of them approached me, and dragged me inside the school. I then identified myself with my Identity card because the crowed were already set to pounce on me. But one of the students, told them to hold on. My phone was also collected.

“Another Student whom I was later told was the President of the Union then approach the gate and told the Students to allow me go that am there to assist in reporting the event. The phone was returned back to me was escorted outside the school gate”.

“I couldn’t wait to get much information because the scenerio was tough and I was already sweating, seeing woods and hefty guys who would have pounced on me.”

“One thing I observed is that the Students were so corporative and orderly, if not, things would have gone out of hand. One of them said me that I should be very careful that am in a student area, if not the next thing I will hear is gunshot in my body.”

Meanwhile the Examination which was earlier scheduled to commence today, has been postponed by the Institution’s Management.

The Institution’s Public Relation Officer, Alhaji Soladoye Adewole who made the disclosure to NATIONAL TELESCOPE in a phone chat, stated that the Management will meet with the Students to address their concern.

According to him, “such an attack is unacceptable. this is what we are saying, we are preparing towards our examination and such issues should not be now”.

He added that, “A very high percentage of them are owing tuition fees.

“Exam for full time is expected to start today while per time students were writing before and we had to suspend the exam to compel them to pay the tuition fee.

“The Institution’s provided a lenient process in payment of their fees which is done twice. 60% first and 40% after.

“But as it stands now, all examinations has been suspended by the Management.” He added.
