After several hours of confusion, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Adamawa State, Barrister Hudu Yunusa has upheld the victory of Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, as the governor-elect of the State.
Recall that confusion erupted at the early hours on Sunday when the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Yunusa Hudu Ari sneaked into the collation center and declared Binani winner of the poll.
This was against the provision of the Electoral Act which mandates the Returning Officer, not REC to announce the results.
Yunusa thereafter made the declaration following the supplementary election held Saturday after the intervention of the leadership of INEC.
