The immediate past President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Labour Party for the September governorship election in Edo.
Akpata was declared winner having scored the highest number of votes at the primary election held in Benin City, the state capital, on Friday.
The election chairman said Akpata scored 316 votes to defeat his co-contestants in a landslide victory.
