Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly left Nigeria just days after his release by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Although he didn’t disclose his destination, Bobrisky shared several videos on Instagram on Monday, revealing he was traveling in first class.
“See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl,” he said.
In another video, he humorously commented on his passport photo, stating, “That passport disfigured my picture.”
Bobrisky’s exit follows a turbulent week of events. On Thursday, he was removed from a KLM flight to Amsterdam at Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to travel to London. He claimed he was injured in the incident and alerted his social media followers afterward.
Following the airport altercation, Bobrisky was taken to EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he reportedly faced questioning over alleged bribery of officials with N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges. He was later released on bail on Saturday after reportedly denying the bribery accusations in a statement to the EFCC.
Bobrisky’s legal troubles began in April 2024, when he was sentenced to six months for naira abuse. Initially detained at Kirikiri Prison, reports indicate he was discreetly relocated to an undisclosed location after three weeks.
His case resurfaced in September, when social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, released an audio clip allegedly featuring Bobrisky discussing bribery with EFCC officials to drop the charges.
