Bishop Abioye Begins Crusade After Departure from Winners Chapel

Bishop David Abioye, former First Vice President of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), has announced a major crusade just weeks after stepping down from his role in the church.

In a message shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Abioye invited the public to a “powerful encounter” on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Velodrome, National Stadium, Abuja.

“There is a stirring, and the power of God is about to move mightily in the city of Abuja. Lives will be changed, and testimonies will abound! Don’t miss it!” Abioye wrote. “Join us for this power-packed encounter with God on Saturday, 23rd November 2024, at 7:00 a.m. at the Velodrome, National Stadium, Abuja. Come along with someone; I’ll be expecting you!”

Bishop Abioye, who previously led the Living Faith Church in Goshen City, Abuja, retired alongside Vice President Thomas Aremu as part of the church’s operational guidelines, known as The Mandate. His farewell service was held on October 18, 2024.

Having met Winners Chapel founder Bishop David Oyedepo in 1979, Abioye became a pivotal leader within the church, guiding one of its pioneer branches in 1987 and being consecrated as a bishop in 1993 at the age of 32.

While Bishop Aremu announced during his farewell on November 15th that he has no intentions of starting a new church, Abioye has remained quiet about his future plans.

However, the crusade flyer featured his personal logo instead of the Winners Chapel logo, hinting at the possibility that Abioye may be preparing to launch his own ministry.
