Bill Gates, Aliko Dangote Join NEC Meeting at Aso Rock

American billionaire Bill Gates and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, are currently participating in the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting is being led by Vice-President Kashim Shettima and is taking place in the Council Chambers of Aso Rock.

Among the attendees are Governors Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Babagana Zulum (Borno), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), and Lawal Dauda (Zamfara).

Also present are several Ministers and Deputy Governors representing their respective principals.

The NEC, a key advisory body to the President on economic matters, includes the Vice President, the 36 state governors, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Minister of Finance, and other economic stakeholders.

In the previous NEC meeting, six governors were confirmed for the Board of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), representing the six geopolitical zones of Borno, Katsina, Imo, Ekiti, Kwara, and Akwa Ibom States.

A statement from the Vice President’s office, issued by his Spokesman Stanley Nkwocha, highlighted the NEC’s recognition of the NDPHC’s crucial role in national economic development and detailed updates and recommendations presented by various ad hoc committees.
