Benue state doctors to commence strike over staff abduction

Benue state doctors will embark on a three days warning strike,on Tuesday, the twenty second of August, twenty twenty three,in support of Dr. Asema Msuega, who was abducted on twenty third of July, twenty twenty three.
The doctor was abducted on his way to direct a state malaria initiative at a primary health centre in Ukum local government area of benue state

A statement was signed during the Nigerian medical association, NMA, benue state branch’s executive council(SEC)meeting which took place on Friday

The statement signed by the chairman, Dr Anenga, and the secretary, Dr Godwin Ameh, the doctors would start a warning strike on Tuesday, twenty second of August, twenty twenty three, at twelve am,till Friday,twenty fifth August, twenty twenty three, eight o’clock am

“The strike will include all medical personnel, the health and educational facilities across the state. Private hospitals and clinics will not partake because of the general public.

“all medical doctors working in ukum local government area are expected to leave the premises with immediate effect until instruct to come back.”

The association said massive protest will start nine o’clock am at the government house roundabout and end at the government house to cushion their demand of immediate release of Dr Asema

The doctors has call on benue state governor, Rev Fr Dr. Hyacinth Alia, The Tor Tiv,

Orchiviligli prof James Ayatse, the Senator representing benue North -East senatorial zone, Barr. Emmanuel Udende, the member representing katsina Ala/Ukum/Logo Federal constituency, Hon.Solomon Wombo, the house of Assembly member representing Ukum constituency, Hon.Ezra Nyiyongo and other stakeholders and the general public to assist in securing the life of the young medical doctor.
