‘Be Creative to be Relevant In Society’ – Varsity Don tells Nigerian Students

…As Precious Cornerstone holds 4th Matriculation

The Vice Chancellor, Lead City University, Ibadan, Professor Kabiru Adeyemo, has enjoined Students to be creative while pursuing their chosen career in other to become outstanding among their peers.

Professor Adeyemo said this while delivering his lecture at the 4th Matriculation Ceremony of Precious Cornerstone University in Ibadan on Friday, March 25, 2022.

According to him, with the increasing rate of graduates been released into the labour market yearly, students who are creative will concentrate more of being employers of labour, rather than job seekers.

Speaking on the topic: ‘Thinking Outside the Box’, the University Don who is also the Chairman of Committee of Vice Chancellors and Registrars of Private Universities of Nigeria, stressed that creative thinkers, think outside the box with a focus to providing solution to problems in the society.

While congratulating the matriculants, he urged them to strive to become exceptional in their chosen field.

He said, “You are now a student in this great university, what are your motivations, what do you want to become in life. If you want to become exceptional in life, you must think outside the box.

“To think outside the box means to be creative.

“Creativity helps us to solve problems. In our everyday life, we encounter all kinds of problems, we try our best to solve this problems but it is not always easy to do this but creativity helps us to solve this problems.”

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of Precious Cornerstone University, Prof. Julius Kola Oloke while delivering his Matriculation address, enjoined the Students to take full advantage skills available to them in the course of their study.

According to him, Precious Cornerstone University through its programmes has provided a platform for students to foster their mindset in building a career to become employers of labour.

“To all our Matriculating Students, I congratulate you for the opportunity you now have to acquire skills that can make you to become an employer of labour.

“You know in Precious Cornerstone University, that’s our emphasis. For everyone in 300 level, you must register with Corporate Affairs Commission with your own company, so that you can carry the mentality of being an employer of labour right from the undergraduate level.

“And I want to encourage the new students to make the best use of this opportunity by allowing the University to pass through you.

According to the the Vice Chancellor, Precious Cornerstone University have been issued a permanent licence of operation and all courses have been accredited by the National University Universities Commission (NUC).

Meanwhile no fewer than 97 Students were admitted into the various programmes of the institution.
