Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South and a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away in London, United Kingdom.
He died on Friday evening at a hotel where he had been staying for two days due to health issues.
Ubah’s death was reportedly caused by complications from a recent tummy tuck surgery, which led to weight loss.
He was the founder and CEO of Capital Oil and Gas Industries Ltd. and ran the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation.
In September 2022, Ubah survived an assassination attempt when his convoy was attacked, resulting in the deaths of at least five people, including two policemen.
He was elected on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) for two terms before defecting to the APC.
Ubah is survived by his wife, Uchenna, and five children. His death has been met with shock and condolences from various quarters
