APC Mourns Death of Kirikasamma Candidate Weeks Before LG Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State is grieving the loss of its candidate for the Kirikasamma Local Government Council, Yahuza Umar Labbo, who passed away after a brief illness. Labbo had been preparing to contest in the local government elections scheduled for October 5.

The death of Labbo was confirmed by Jigawa APC Chairman, Aminu Gumel, in a statement released on Wednesday.

Labbo’s untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the party, coming at a critical time as preparations for the elections were in full swing, considering that he was a significant figure in the party’s local strategy.

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Labbo and to the entire Muslim community. 

In his message, the Governor prayed for the repose of Labbo’s soul and for the strength of his family to endure this challenging period.

Labbo, who was 55, is survived by three wives and fifteen children. His death is seen as a substantial loss to the APC in Jigawa State, impacting the party’s plans as it prepares for the local government elections.
