Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi, looks forward to winning his 60th international cap tonight when Nigeria’s Super Eagles face the Fennec Foxes of Algeria in a friendly.
The game is scheduled to kick off in Oran, Algeria at 8:00pm Nigeria time.
Recall Iwobi made his Eagles debut on October 8, 2015, in a 2-1 win over hosts Zambia in a World Cup qualifier.
The former Arsenal star marked his debut with an assist for a goal by Kelechi Iheanacho in a match played during the reign of Sunday Oliseh as Super Eagles gaffer.
Iwobi has so far scored 11 goals for Nigeria after he featured for England at U16, U17 and U18 levels.
He netted the equaliser last Friday when Nigeria held Algeria B team to a 2-2 draw in a friendly played in Constantine.
Iwobi is expected to team up with likes of Taiwo Awoniyi, Ihenacho, Cyriel Dessers and Ademola Lookman to give the Algerians a run for their money.
There are indications that Francis Uzoho could man the posts tonight following the seemingly cheeky goal Maduka Okoye let in during Friday’s clash.
Okoye failed to deal with a clearance in the box and in the process gifted Karim Aribi the opening goal in the 33rd minute.
Meanwhile, the camp of Jose Peseiro’s side is set for the grudge clash with Algeria.
Already, captain William Troost-Ekong, who sustained an injury during last Friday’s clash with Algeria’s home-based team has since returned to his base in England.
