The Ondo State Government has launched a new High Court Complex in honor of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed away a year ago after battling prostate cancer. The complex, named the Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu Judiciary Complex, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the administration of justice in the state.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who flagged off the construction of the complex, described the project as a milestone achievement and a fulfillment of the late governor’s vision. According to Aiyedatiwa, the complex was conceived during Akeredolu’s administration, and his government is committed to completing the project to honor his legacy.
The new complex will feature a ceremonial court, modular courts, a registry, a library, exhibition buildings, a utility building, and modern parking facilities. The project, which is being handled by Messrs Westfield Global Construction Company, is expected to be completed within 48 weeks.
The Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, praised the initiative, describing it as a landmark achievement. The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo, also commended the governor’s commitment to advancing the rule of law, saying that the project is a testament to his promise of accessible justice.
The construction of the new High Court Complex is a significant development in Ondo State’s judiciary, and it is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the justice system. The project is also a fitting tribute to the late Governor Akeredolu, who was a strong advocate for justice and the rule of law during his time in office.
