To enhance the quality of education and provide equal opportunities for all, the Akwa Ibom State government has begun distributing one million free exercise books and school bags to pupils in public primary schools across the state.

This initiative follows the recent provision of free school uniforms, shoes, and socks to pupils at CKS Model Primary School in Uyo.

Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet, stated that the distribution of exercise books and school bags is part of the state government’s efforts to ensure every child has access to quality education, regardless of their background.

She stressed that education is a collective responsibility and urged parents and guardians to ensure the provided materials are properly maintained.

One million exercise books and school bags are expected to be distributed to pupils across the 31 local government areas of the state.

Reacting to the development, the Head Teacher of Christ the King Model School, Mrs. Ukeme Udofia, expressed gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for his administration’s commitment to education.

She promised to reciprocate the gesture by maintaining the facilities and ensuring good grades from pupils.
