A’Ibom government commences 2nd batch of food distribution

In furtherance of it’s determination to mitigate the current food crisis in the state, the state government, through the ARISE FOOD SECURITY PROGRAM of the State Bulk Purchase Agency, has commenced another batch of distribution of food vouchers to Ward Personal Assistants to the Governor for onward presentation to the vulnerable members of the society as captured in the social register of the state.

The distribution exercise which commenced today, Monday 6th May 2024 with Eket Senatorial District will continue tommorow, Tuesday 7th May with Ikot-Ekpene and Uyo Senatorial Districts taking their turn at the Head office of the agency in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.

Already, the Ward Personal Assistants to the Governor, drawn from the 12 Local Government Areas in Eket Senatorial District have taken delivery of the vouchers for their respective wards.

Speaking at the ward centre in Essene, Ikot Abasi local government area, Mr. John Kanico said the exercise is smooth and only those captured in the social register will be given.

He described the development as a testament to the governor’s goodwill for the state, even as he solicited for continued support for the governor.
