Again, terrorists stormed the Dogon-noma community in the early hours of Saturday, and abducted 15 women and one man in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This is coming barely three days after eight women were kidnapped and one person killed in the Banono Angwaku community of the same local government.
A resident of the area, Mr. Istifanus Ma’aji, told The Punch that the attackers invaded the village at 5.30 am on Saturday in large numbers, shooting indiscriminately.
She said, “We cannot authoritatively confirm the figures, because most of the villagers ran for their lives when the attackers struck.
“We can only confirm the figure by evening, when we’re able to access the village.
Similarly, the former Council Chairman, Cafra Caino, said, “We are yet to get the number of casualties because the locals ran for their lives at the time the assailants invaded the community.
“The community had, sometime in 2019, come under heavy attack where 74 people were killed and the community has recently been experiencing attacks.”
Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas had in recent weeks become hotbeds of attacks and kidnappings, causing tension in the state.
When contacted, the state police public relations officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to calls put to him by Punch as of the time of filing this report.
