The Kwara State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by CP Adekimi Ojo, psc, mnips, as the 44th Commissioner of Police in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, and made available to journalists in Ilorin.
CP Ojo, a seasoned law enforcement officer with over three decades of service in the Nigeria Police Force, brings vast experience in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and strategic security management.
Before his appointment, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in the Kwara State Command, playing a key role in crime-fighting and security coordination.
The new police commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining law and order, enhancing public safety, and strengthening community relations.
He urged residents to cooperate with the police by providing credible information that would aid in crime prevention and ensure a swift response to security concerns.
As Muslims in Kwara State and across Nigeria celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, CP Ojo extended his warm felicitations, wishing everyone a peaceful and joyous festivity.
He called for unity, peace, and mutual understanding, urging residents to adhere to security advisories for a hitch-free celebration. The police command assured the public of adequate security measures before, during, and after the festivities.
