Oyo State chapter of Action Alliance, AA, has revealed plans to hold the party’s substitution congress for State assembly and governorship elections in the State.
According to a statement made available to NATIONAL TELESCOPE by the State’s Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel Olumide the decision was reached at the stakeholders meeting on Monday.
“The congress will hold on August 10, 2022 at the State’s Party Secretariat opposite urban day grammar school, old ife road, ibadan.
The statement reads in part, “On behalf of the State chairman Comrade Kolajo Gbemileke, who made this known to all the stakeholders and candidates that the State received directive from National Secretariat to hold the congress.
“The party will not discriminate against new members in it’s activities and also appreciate everyone for their efforts during the just concluded voter’s registration exercise.
“Oyo South Senatorial candidate Mr Wale Aderinto, implored all candidates to intensify their efforts at the grassroots level and monitor each unit coordinator on the activities of the party.
“The Governorship candidate, Mr Ajekiigbe Olaniyi assured the people that Action Alliance will take over the state by special grace of God come 2023 and urge people to guide their voters card till election time.”
“Present at the meeting includes, Hon Akinwale Emmanuel, Barrister Bolarinwa Lawal, Hon Agboola Ridwan,Hon Adiat from Akinyele, Hon mrs Onipede from Egbeda, Hon Olawoore from Saki, Hon Olakanmi from Ogbomoso, Hon Paul Martin’s from Oyo and Local Government chairmen.”
