Benue Gov, Alia sacks BIRS Chairman

The Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, has sacked the Chairman of the Benue Internal Revenue Service
(BIRS), Mrs. Mimi Orubibi.

In a letter signed by the governor, Mrs. Orubibi was asked to step aside for verification of the Agency’s report for of the immediate past administration.

It read, “Following my receipt of the Handover Notes from the outgone administration and the need to independently verify various aspects of the reports across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, you are requested to step aside from the Office of Chairman of Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS), and report to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), for further directives.”

Orubibi was however directed to “handover to the most senior civil servant in the Agency until further notice.
