The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Smart Adeyemi has expressed concern over the untold hardship Nigerians went through during implementation of the naira redesign policy.
He lament that several people died as due to the inability to withdraw their money from banks during the period.
The Senator who spoke in an interview monitored on Channel TV on Friday said, if he was the president-elect, Bola Tinubu he would have invited the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor to explain the purpose of the policy.
He said, “It will not be enough if mistakes were made and we keep quiet, if mistakes were a mistake, it was a misrepresentation to the president, he would sign it. We must know what happened.
“People died in that period. You know people developed stroke because they couldn’t have access to their money and because you and I survived, we should not care about those who died. Now we are happy we have a new president, don’t forget
that some people died; some people were forced to die so to speak. That policy killed some people, innocently.”
