He said they should present themselves as role models at their places of primary assignment.

“the younger ones have a lot to learn from you. Make sure you influence their lives positively. Be diligent, dedicated and law abiding in the discharge of your duty.

Speaking further, the governor said, “May I now call on you Corps Members to support and join hands with the State Government in the task of building a stronger, more united, peaceful and democratic nation. Shun all forms of anti-social behavior like: corruption, truancy, cultism, drug addiction and thuggery, adding that the end of such, is regret and destruction. Allow your parents to reap what they have invested in you and be a source of joy to them.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the NYSC Oyo State Coordinator, Mr Odoba Oche charged the Corps members to accept wherever they are posted in good faith.

“My dear Corps member, in a few moments from now, you shall be given letters of posting to your Places of Primary Assignment (PPA). I expect you to take your posting in good spirit and brace up to the challenges of nation building. Start to exhibit and nurture the leadership traits in you by beginning to dream big and create visions that will outlast you in any community you find yourself, he said.

“Mr Oche equally advised the Corps members to relate cordially with the people of their host communities and steer clear of any act of indiscipline or anti-social behavior.

He however appealed to employers of Corps members to make adequate provision for their welfare.

“Let me at this juncture appeal to Corps employers to make adequate arrangements for their Corps members so that they can settle down on time. They should be provided with basic facilities to enhance their effectiveness”, he said.
